BY526 driver Mini 150M USB WiFi Wireless LAN 802.11 n/g/b driver USB\Vid_0bda&Pid_0179&Rev_0000 driver

Spent a few weeks looking for the drivers for a generic USB WiFi adapter from Ebay until I found these, hope they help so others don't waste their time also.

      No problem glad the post helped out. It's been so long that I don't actually recall exactly where I found the drivers, just that I spent a few weeks downloading all kinds of drivers including the ones from realtek and nothing until just as I was about to give up I found these so I made sure to save them and upload them just in case anyone else needed them and it appears a few people were having the same issue finding the right driver. I actually ordered 2 of the same adapters from Ebay and Tmart because I just assumed the first from ebay just didn't work so when the adapter from Tmart arrived I had the same issue, after finding the driver both are still working, I am surprised they have lasted this long.

    These drivers are a life and time saver. Mine shipped in mini ziplocks with the label, "BY526". Your post is the top result on Google search. You are greatly appreciated sir!

      That's an improvement, when I got mine it was just the mini zip locks and the adapter with nothing at all to indicate what it was. I managed to get the information that's in the title of the post by using everest which didn't help me as I still spent a long tine trying different drivers because nothing was listed for "BY526". Glad the driver was of use to you.

      From the device manager, you should have the device in the USB port and device manager will show you that it has a driver error, right click on it, click update driver then choose the option to search for the driver on your computer and point it to the unzipped directory for your operating system. If this driver works for your device it will install.     Brilliant, but it was hard to find the solution. I would suggest you put usb vid_0bda&pid_8179&rev_0000 in your pages keywords and you'll help even more people - Earl

      I would if I could but I'm kind of dumb and swamped with work, I believe you have to edit HTML for that and my head my explode, but by all means feel free to do that on your own blog and share the files. I hate looking for a driver and getting all those driverscape, driverguru and so on, that just clutter up the experience so I encourage everyone to share the drivers and make it easier for anyone who has the misfortune of running into this driver hunt.

    I am not a big computer literates like you nice people. Kindly tell me how to install this driver. I have downloaded it but there is no setup file. I am running Windows & Home Premium.

      I will assume you know how to get to device manager if not just google it. But all you do is open the device manager make sure you have the USB Wi-Fi dongle connected and it should show you the device with a yellow exclamation mark (if you have other devices with missing drivers it will show you more than one exclamation mark) right click on this device and a menu will appear with update driver as an opntion. Click that than choose browse my computer for driver software and direct it to the directory where your drivers are. If it is the correct driver for your device it will install.
